THE FIRST HONEST STEP: WHAT I KNOW ABOUT CLARITY NOW
I used to believe that clarity meant having a plan: a clear path, a five-step strategy, and a polished answer to the question, "So, what's next?" However, that version of clarity never materialized.
Instead, I experienced a quiet, nagging feeling, a whisper I continued to ignore while juggling life, motherhood, finances, and responsibilities. It wasn't loud or dramatic; it was simply honest.
That's when everything began to change.
Clarity Doesn't Arrive Like a Light Switch
Clarity doesn't necessarily come after you've cleaned your calendar, meditated for three days straight, or spent two hours journaling. Instead, it often arrives in moments of honesty.
It's in that instant when you finally admit, "I don't want this anymore," or "This isn't working," or "I'm tired of pretending I'm fine."
Clarity often feels like relief rather than empowerment. When we are honest with ourselves, even for just a moment, we stop fighting against what we instinctively know deep down.
Why Is It Hard to Feel Clear?
We're not unclear because we are confused. We're unclear because we've been conditioned to please, perform, and prioritize others. We've trained ourselves to avoid discomfort, often saying "I'm fine" instead of expressing that "I'm overwhelmed" or "It's okay" instead of admitting "I want more." In this avoidance, our truth gets buried.
Clarity doesn't come from a lack of options but from a strong sense of self-trust. And that trust is developed through honesty.
What Helped Me Get Started?
I didn't find clarity in a workbook; instead, I discovered it during a moment by the sea in San Diego. There was no noise, no pressure, just me, barefoot in the sand, finally listening to a part of myself that I had kept quiet for years.
From that moment on, I began to ask myself three important questions:
What am I tired of pretending is okay?
Where am I saying yes when I really mean no?
What would I do if I fully trusted myself?
These questions led me back to myself.
